joining us. i'm tiffany lane. in colorado springs a gunman stormed into a planned parenthoododuilding friday ... killing 3 ananinjuring nine. the suspect, identified as robe lewis dear, in custody ... police are hoping to learn more about his motive. a federal official tells us the 57 year old appears to be mentally disturbed. nbc national corresponden t miguel almaguer is in colorado springs with the latest on the investigation.

parenthood. the c-e-o of planned parenthood of the rocky mountain region praised the 15 health workers inside the building and all off the first responders for their efforts. she says the "entire national community was attacked" friday and that they will "adapt...squar e our shoulders...an d go on." authorities have identified a suspect in a new orleans playground shooting last sunday that injured 17 people. police arereearching for 32-year-old joseph "moe" allen... who is wanted on 17 counts of attempted first degree murder. the shooting took place at the bunny friend playground... where several hundred people had gathered for a block party. that's when witnesses say at least two groups of people started shooting at each other and then left the park on foot. "we're not gonna stand for it. this is not a game. and we are absolutely not playing with you. so this is a very determined, competent, dedicated group of men and women standing with us and all of us are gonna work around the clock until we catch every last person, but we need your help." new orleans police say several

the discovery of the little girl whose body was found in boston in june set off a nationwide effort to identify the toddler. she now has a...name bella bond...and a gravesite. today she was laid to rest. glenn marshall reports.

claus. the fun, festive event also included a pancake breakfast, crafts, and cookie decorating. "it's a little bit different environment instead of just meetin santa claus. you get the whole experience with breakfast, we got christmas music playing, we got elves running around doing face painting-- it's something unique to sioux city," said sioux city recreation supervisor for parks and recreation, eric griffith. while there, kids could not only visit with santa, but also with his elves and mrs. claus. winter storm watch for all of siouxland sunday night through tuesday temperatures today were still below average but at least it wasn't quite as cold as yesterday when highs were only in the low to mid 20s. clouds will be moving in again on sunday and we could even see a slight chance of some flakes of snow by later in the afternoon as a storm system will be moving into siouxland. things get more interesting sunday night as a mix could start coming down in southern siouxland with light snow

downtown sioux city is home to hundreds of locally owned shops. and on this "small business saturday," siouxlanders were encouraged to support those local businesses. ktiv's tommie clark shares how "the whistle stop" on nebraska street, is one of those shops.

city native and vietnam veteran, rob hardy. he says every day's a bit more fun and he's happy to be at the whistle stop. "at retired status you have to find something to do so luckily i got into chuck's shop here on nebraska...which i consider to be the best," said vendor, rob hardy. they say "small business saturday" helps support local business owners and their families. each business provides something special to siouxland. in sioux city...tommie clark...ktiv news 4. >> pierce street coffee works is another siouxland shop that benefits from "small business saturday." 21 years ago ron johns helped open the coffee because he felt like sioux city needed a good coffee house. he says throughout the shop's years-- it's always had great support from local customers. "i think because it's a small business you know mom and pop kind of thing that the community can

come to and support the employees that work here things like that i just think it's a great place to hang out," said pierce street coffee works owner, ron johns. pierce street coffee works serves breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. johns says every walk of life comes in and the doors and he loves that anybody can sit down and relax at his coffee shop. long weekend of college football winding down. morningisde was playing in a big game here in town. yeah, playing for a chance to reach the naia semifinals a place they've been three of the last four years. first they had to play tabor college. those highlights in just a minute. and would iowa state mens basketball team be on upset alert? playing illinois in a championship game down in florida. we'll talk about it next in

"not being exactly where we wanted to be on both offense and defense but finally getting back on track playing like we usually do." "a lot more experienced on defense," said steve ryan, morningside head coach. "last year we were playing at this time of the year with all freshman kind of in the secondary. on offense i think we've got a lot of weapons. last year we were very heavy on brandon wegher and devin thomas. at this point of the year devin was out and we were very brandon oriented so i think we got a lot more guys that can do things." morningside will host southern oregon next weekend. paul rhoads coaching in his last game at iowa state - on the road in west virgina. cyclones fans not the start you want hoping to send coach out on a win - joel lanning's throw is undercut and picked off. and that led to the first points of the game - shelton gibson catches it and does the rest - five guys

here comes the sixth, 7-0 west virginia. this a real bright spot for the cyclones - freshman runing back mike warren - led all freshman in the nation in rushing yards, had 74, finished with 1,339 on the seaosn. but iowa state, not going to send coach or seniors out with a win. mountaineers beat the cyclones 30-6 the final. division i fcs playoffs - northern iowa hosting eastern illinois we'll pick it up in the third quarter - panthers leading 23-10 - aaron bailey to charles brown - the strength to hold himself up gets in for the score - 52-yard score. eastern illinois not going away quite yet - addison bounds on the receiving end of a jump pass - back within 13 but they'd never score again. uni - they would score again - bailey rolling out - deep to daurice fountain. northern iowa big winners 53-17. they advance to play portland state next saturday.
